Lobo Football & Basketball Play-by-Play Announcer

Scott Galetti begins his second season as play-by-play announcer for University of New Mexico football and men’s basketball on 770 KKOB and the Lobo Radio Network. Galetti has extensive play-by-play experience. He has called action in the Continental Basketball Association (three seasons) and the American Basketball League (two seasons). On the collegiate ranks, he has called basketball and baseball at Long Beach State (three seasons), football at Cal State Northridge (one season) and began his career by doing television work on basketball and baseball at Cal State Fullerton (two seasons). He served as play-by-play announcer and host for the Radio Sports Creations (RSC) Radio Network off-and-one for 10 seasons doing national radio broadcasts of college football and basketball, as well as NFL broadcasts. Galetti has also served as play-by-play announcer for the Boise Hawks and High Desert Mavericks baseball teams and the Bakersfield Fog and Phoenix Mustangs hockey teams, and worked for 10 seasons as a local access television announcer calling high school football and basketball, as well as junior college football, basketball and baseball. His first football play-by-play radio broadcast came in 1993 on national radio in Madison, Wisconsin when Wisconsin hosted Michigan.
Galetti has more than 17 years of experience as a radio sports and news reporter in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle and Phoenix and nearly eight years as a sports reporter at a pair of Los Angeles area newspapers. He has had the privilege of covering numerous NBA championship series and Rose Bowls, MLB championship series, All-Star games and the World Series, a pair of Stanley Cup Finals and a Super Bowl.
OTHER NOTES:
• Galetti has served as an interim Sports Information Director at Long Beach State, and as a media relations director in the CBA, as well as on the minor league baseball and hockey levels.
• Among his duties with the High Desert Mavericks, Galetti served as the Sports Director at KHIZ TV Channel 64, where he did the nightly sportscasts, as well as single-handedly producing a 16-week series of High Desert Maverick team shows.
